PREEMIECME

Preemie C Me was created to support premature babies and their parents. The goal was to design clothing that was both medically functional and emotionally comforting.

DESIGNING WITH CARE

Our project, PreemieCme, focused on making clothes better for premature babies. Our project, PreemieCme, focused on making clothes better for premature babies. We collaborated with Rapife (a baby clothing manufacturer), parents, neonatal doctors, and nurses to develop our ideas.

We wanted to use chitosan, a natural material with healing and antibacterial properties. By adding chitosan nanoparticles to the fabric, we hoped to make the clothes safer, stronger, and gentler for babies.

Because premature babies have very sensitive skin, we designed the clothes with soft Velcro and seams on the outside to avoid irritation. We also added a Sámi-inspired print and worked with Sámi communities to include their culture in a respectful and meaningful way.

MY PART

I worked alongside collaborators on technical design, focusing on gentle materials and practical features.

RECOGNITION

The collection was featured by Worth Partnership and

WHAT I LEARNED

Design has the most impact when it starts from care and listens to real needs.
