ONE WAY OR ANOTHER

Two photographs clipped to a pink tiled background. The left photo is a screenshot of a Twitter profile for Betsey Johnson, featuring her name, handle, tagline 'All things girly and punk', join date, follower count, and a single tweet saying 'Never give up never!!' The right photo is of Betsey Johnson, an older woman with blonde hair, wearing red and black striped shirt, holding a glass of wine, smiling at a lively event with pink floral decor in the background.

The Business

Cotton Candy Burlesque, a fashion school project exploring softness, colour, and emotional expression.

Context

I led the creative idea and design direction.

My Role

The project was developed during fashion studies and focused on translating mood and feeling into garment design.

What I Did

  • Defined the concept direction based on softness and movement

  • Designed garments guided by colour and emotional tone

  • Created sketches and moodboards to support the concept

  • Developed a small sculptural element referenced in the project

  • Documented the final work as a portfolio case

Two images of doll-like figures with pink, fluffy hair and elaborate costumes, framed as film strips. The left figure has a pale face, bold makeup, pearl necklace, and a transparent top, while the right figure has their back turned, wearing a ruffled pink skirt, fishnet stockings, and a corset.

Result/Effect

Delivered a completed fashion project with a clear concept and cohesive visual language.
